Honestly the 4 sons being landed is a good thing and if you can crush the potential rebellion using mercs with raided gold, it will lead to rather stable and powerful empire. However, you do NOT want to hold the kingdom titles personally anyway. that way you hopefully will be able to fight any succession factions.
